AI Hazard Analyzer

The AI Hazard Analyzer compares your incident description and event details against your hazard list. It recommends the most relevant hazards from that list. 

What It Solves

• • Hazards are often missed or recorded inconsistently, leaving gaps in risk data.
  • By recommending hazards to the most detailed level available, the AI Hazard Analyzer helps you capture more precise and aligned findings.
  • You gain clearer visibility into risks and improve downstream analysis and reporting.

Requirements

• • Your incident description must score 3 or higher in the Description Analyzer in order for you to use Ask Vēlo to get hazard recommendations.
  • You must be able to edit and change the recommendations where you are using Vēlo.
  • You need to select the Ask Vēlo button to generate hazard recommendations.
  • You can decide to not click the Ask Vēlo buttons at all and manually enter all of the data for your incident record.

Using the AI Hazard Analyzer

1. 1. Enter or update the incident description and event details.
   2. Select Ask Vēlo to generate hazard recommendations.
       
      
   3. Review the list. Hazards are suggested to the lowest level of the hazard tree.
   4. Select or deselect hazards as needed.
   5. Save your selections.

After saving, Vēlo-suggested and manually added hazards appear together as part of the investigation.

Key Behaviors

• • If the incident description score is below 3, hazard recommendations are not available. The platform displays: “The description must be ≥3 to use this AI feature.”
  • If the description or event details are updated, Vēlo prompts with:

“You’ve made updates to the following:

• • • Description
    • Event Details

To get the most accurate AI analysis, click Ask Vēlo.”

• • Once hazards are saved, manual and Vēlo-recommended hazards appear together in the Hazard Types section.
  • The Audit Trail records which hazards were saved, including those that are missing from your Hazards list.
