There are many reasons why you should add safety data sheets to your eBinder versus just searching our multi-million library every time you need to access an SDS. The Chemical Management system gives you several ways you can add safety data sheets to your eBinder, including:
Adding documents from SDS Search
Uploading safety data sheets
Requesting safety data sheets
Reasons to build your eBinder
Below you will find just some of the reasons our customers have given us for why they add safety data sheets to their eBinder.
Makes SDSs easier to find
The eBinder functions as your online filing cabinet or, if you prefer, your electronic binder of SDSs. Additionally adding SDSs to your eBinder makes these documents easier to find when doing a search instead of trying to locate them within our multi-million safety data sheet library every time you need them.
Easily run an OSHA-compliant inventory report
The SDSs you add to your eBinder represent the ones you should have that match the chemicals in your workplace, making it simple to run an OSHA-compliant inventory report.
Auto Updates
When new versions of SDSs get added to the Chemical Management database, they are compared against the SDSs in your eBinder. If you have an older version you are notified that an updated version is now available. We call these Auto Updates and they help you stay compliant with various regulations.
Indexing/Added Functionality
When SDSs are added to an eBinder, you can take advantage of additional functionality such as grouping, reporting, labeling, and much more depending on your account’s features.
HazCom Compliance
SDSs placed into an eBinder are made accessible to your employees in a read-only manner via the “General User Site”.
The General User Site feature is only available for SDS and SDS/Chemical Management accounts.
Backups
SDSs placed into an eBinder can be batch downloaded to enable mass printing or electronic back up creation, keeping you compliant with OSHA’s HazCom Standard electronic SDS management requirements.
Emergency Response
SDSs placed into an eBinder may be shared with your local emergency response team via the “Plan1 First Responder Share” functionality.
The Plan1 First Responder Share feature is only available for SDS and SDS/Chemical Management accounts.
