How does VelocityEHS update the safety data sheets in my eBinder?

VelocityEHS updates the safety data sheets in the SDS Search database and, subsequently, your eBinder, using several different methods:

• VelocityEHS Document Obtainment – The VelocityEHS obtainment team is constantly searching for updated SDSs via phone, email, and manufacturer websites.  Upon obtaining newer versions, the system will automatically send you the updated SDS if it meets our versioning criteria. SDS obtainment efforts are focused primarily on the manufacturers represented in the most eBInders.  Manufacturers and products in hundreds or thousands of eBinders are reviewed most frequently. If, as part of regular business processes, the team reached out to the manufacturer and confirmed that there is no newer document available, we let you know the last time we asked the manufacturer for a new version in the Last Verified field, which can be easily found in the summary panel for the product.
• Customer Uploads – If you receive updated versions of SDSs from a manufacturer, you can choose to use the Upload feature to upload the newer version. These safety data sheets may also go into the SDS Search database and trigger an Auto Update.
• Customer Requests – If you are unable to find the safety data sheet you need in the SDS Search database, you can use the Request feature to ask VelocityEHS to contact the manufacturer on your behalf and attempt to obtain the SDS. If we’re able to obtain the document, it will be added to both your eBinder and SDS Search and may trigger an Auto Update.
• Manufacturer Submittal – Some chemical manufacturers provide VelocityEHS with their updated SDSs upon authoring newer versions. These safety data sheets are added to the SDS Search database and may trigger Auto Updates.
