If you are unable to locate the safety data sheet you need using SDS Search and you have a PDF copy of it saved on your computer, you can use the Upload feature in the global navigation Menu of your account to submit the document for addition to your eBinder.
When you upload safety data sheets, you may receive credit for those uploads if the document can be added to the SDS Search database in addition to your eBinder. An Upload Credit is our way of thanking you for helping us enhance the database.
Your Upload is eligible for an Upload Credit if:
- you do not select “Private” at the time of upload;
- the document does not already exist in the SDS Search database (i.e., your Upload is not a duplicate); and
- your Upload is not made Private or marked Incomplete during the quality assurance review process.
Your Upload may be made Private and excluded from the SDS Search database if the document:
- does not clearly identify a manufacturer or supplier;
- does not clearly identify a product name;
- contains questionable data (e.g., a revision date in the future);
- is authored in a language Chemical Management cannot translate;
- contains pages with handwriting, highlighting, or stamps;
- contains extra pages that are not part of the safety data sheet;
- contains more than one safety data sheet and is not clearly identified as a kit;
- contains out-of-order pages;
- contains skewed or rotated pages; and/or
- contains scanned pages.
Your Upload may be rejected and marked Incomplete if the document:
- is not a safety data sheet;
- is missing pages or sections;
- does not contain a product name; and/or
- is illegible or otherwise unable to be reviewed.
For more information about why an Upload was marked Incomplete, select the item’s row in the Queue to open the summary panel. Please contact Support if you have additional questions about Incomplete documents.
You can see how many previous Uploads were eligible for a credit by hovering your cursor over More Information in the Uploads Remaining section on the Uploads page. To determine which of your Uploads received an Upload Credit, use the SDS Documents Uploaded Report.
