Initiating a Change Request

Initiating a change request allows you to:

• Reduce the risk of unintended consequences due to change
• Seek and maintain records of technical and financial input to a change
• Provide visibility to changes being planned or already underway

Group meetings often occur to discuss changes before initiating them in VelocityEHS.

To initiate a change request:

1. Select the appropriate type of MOC from the main menu to initiate a change request.
   
   
2. Describe the change proposed, the reason for the change, impact to environment, health, and safety. Select one or more change types, and use the help text to define each type. Indicate the location of the change; it is important to select this correctly, as it cannot be altered after the request is submitted.
   
   
3. Select the Submit Change Request button to submit the change request.
   
   

Now that you’ve submitted the change request, the person responsible for completing the next stage of work will be made aware of their task, and your job as the initiator is done!
