Conducting an Observation

Conducting an observation allows you to:

• Observe employee and contractor safety-related behavior on the job
• Address and correct unsafe behavior through the identification of root causes
• Collect information about employee and contractor behavior to develop safer work practices

Everyone is encouraged to participate in Observations.

To conduct an observation:

1. Select Observation from the Add New main menu.
   
   
2. Include all relevant information, select the appropriate checklist, and select Begin Observation.
   
   
3. Answer all questions making sure to add findings and actions as necessary.
   
    

Now that you’ve conducted an observation, the person responsible for completing the next stage of work will be made aware of their task, and your job is done! Corrective actions will be assigned and completed as necessary based on the observation results.
