Creating a Data Import Template

Creating a data import template allows you to define structure for these imports to:

• Provide users with access to the application quickly
• Use data from other sources for trending and analysis
• Rapidly update user records and metrics data

Any administrator can create or modify a data import template as needed.

To create a data import template:

1. Go to the Admin menu and select Templates under the Imports section.
   
   
2. Click Add New.
   
   
3. Enter a name for your template and select the category of data to be imported. Select a primary identifier (how the system will determine whether each row is a new or existing record), if necessary. Select the columns (fields) you want to import and define the order in which they appear in your files. Click the Publish button. If necessary, determine whether empty cells should clear existing data in the application. If you wish, click Export to get a CSV file with the fields you’ve chosen as column headers.
   
   

Now that you’ve created a template, you can start importing data!
