Performing a Job Safety Analysis

Performing a job safety analysis allows you to:

• Engage a diverse team of participants to contribute to a safer workplace
• Reduce risk by systematically considering hazards and putting controls in place
• Maintain documentation to support employees who may be required to perform the task or conduct inspections on personal protective equipment

Everyone with access to risk assessments is encouraged to perform a job safety analysis.

To perform a job safety analysis:

1. Select Job Safety Analysis from the Add New menu.
   
   
2. Include all relevant information, including Description and Location. Select Begin Analysis.
   
   
3. Complete the analysis grid making sure to include all relevant information. Create and assign corrective actions as required for each job step.
   
   

Now that you’ve performed a job safety analysis, the person responsible for completing the next stage of work will be made aware of their task, and your job as the initiator is done!
