What are the different FTP folders involved in automatic file transfers and how do I use them?

There are four folders in your FTP account: Processing, Processed, Results, and Errors. Each day, you’ll upload your .CSV files that are ready for import at the “root” location in your FTP account, the same place where you see these four folders.

• • Processing – When the import process begins (at 3 a.m. daily), it moves the uploaded .CSV files from the “root” folder location to this folder, until the process ends.
  • Processed – When the import process ends, it moves files from the Processing folder to this folder.
  • Results – When the import process ends, it generates a Result file in this folder. This file will contain error messages for any records that failed to import, and warning messages for records that imported successfully but encountered a problem (formatting or validation issues). For any failed records, an email notification is sent to the configured email address(es) for the FTP account; this email(s) will contain a link to the Results file in question.
  • Errors – If an error is encountered (for example, the import file exceeds the maximum record limit per file of 20,000), the import process moves the file to this folder. If a data error occurs, you can fix the error and then upload the file to the root location again for reprocessing. For errors unrelated to the file data, contact Support.
