JSA Statuses

This article describes Job Safety Analysis statuses in the Operational Risk solution.

A JSA progresses through several phases indicated by the following statuses:

• • Draft – The default status once a JSA is initially created and saved, Draft indicates that the JSA is currently being worked on. Edits are allowed in Draft status.
  • In-Progress – JSA has been sent to the designated Coordinator, or the Reviewer has rejected the JSA (via the “Review JSA” option). Edits are allowed in this status.
  • Awaiting Review – JSA has been sent to the Reviewer for Approval. No edits are allowed.
  • Approved – JSA has been approved by the Reviewer (via the “Review JSA” option) and sent to the Coordinator for final review and publishing. No edits are allowed.
  • Published – The JSA is complete and has been published by the Coordinator. No edits are allowed.

The Coordinator and Reviewer can advance or regress the JSA only one step (status) at a time (for example, from Draft to In-Progress status, or from In-Progress back to Draft status). The exception to this restriction is a System Administrator role that includes the Job Safety Analysis Override permission; this individual can change the status of a JSA to any other status as necessary, regardless of the current status.
