This article explains how to give users access to Advanced Dashboards. Access is managed in Role Management by assigning solution-specific Advanced Dashboard policies to a role.
Important:
Advanced Dashboard access and Advanced Report access are managed separately. The Explore Reporting Data policy continues to control access to Advanced Reports.
How Access Works
- A user must be assigned a role that includes an Advanced Dashboard policy.
- The user only sees the Advanced Dashboards navigation option for the solutions included in the assigned role.
- You can assign more than one Advanced Dashboard policy to the same role.
Granting Access to Advanced Dashboards
Use these steps when your organization is new to Advanced Dashboards, no users have accessed Advanced Dashboards within the past 90 days, or you need to give access to additional users.
- Go to Admin Settings > Role Management.
- Create or edit a role.
- Add the required Advanced Dashboard policies. Add one or more of the following policies to the role:
- Safety: View EHS Advanced Dashboards
- Industrial Ergonomics: View Ergonomics Advanced Dashboards
- Operational Risk: View Operational Risk Advanced Dashboards
- Chemical Management: View Chemical Management Advanced Dashboards
- Select Save.
Assign the role to each user who needs access to the selected Advanced Dashboards.
Advanced Dashboard Access for Existing Customers
During the release, customers with users who accessed Advanced Dashboards within the previous 90 days are updated automatically.
Automatic role creation
An Advanced Dashboard Viewer role is automatically created for your organization. This role
- includes the Advanced Dashboard policies for the solutions your organization is subscribed to.
- is automatically assigned to users who accessed Advanced Dashboards within the previous 90 days.
These users continue to see Advanced Dashboards in the navigation after the update.
Giving access to additional users
To give access to a user who was not assigned the Advanced Dashboard Viewer role automatically, follow the steps in Granting access to Advanced Dashboards, above. You can edit the Advanced Dashboard Viewer role, edit another role, or create a new role.
